A little bit about us...
Hugh Rock developed our first squashes and cordials more than 30 years ago in Berkshire when he started a family firm in 1981. The aim was to produce drinks that everyone could enjoy, in response to people’s concerns about the quality of soft drinks and to avoid the long list of chemicals found within them. His ethos, to produce drinks that did not use artificial sweeteners, colours or additives, was one we greatly admired.
Even when Hugh decided to retire from the business, we pledged to keep his values alive, and we have put all our energy into producing each and every Rocks Drink ‘as it should be made’, with an uncomplicated approach.
We are passionate about our business, which is based in a village just outside Exeter in Devon. We have a small and dedicated team of staff, and pride ourselves on making authentic squashes following the original recipes.
We’re very proud of our heritage and our squashes offer a superior taste because we continue to use this simple list of ingredients - fruit, real sugar and water – that has stood the test of time. It’s the simplicity that sets us apart and we are energetic about the future and ready to move forward and stand out from the crowd.
We only work with the finest fruit growers and squash real, whole, fruit. You will find that our squashes are more pulpy than usual. This is because we squish all the fruit and the pulp, especially in lemon and orange squashes, where the whole fruit is used, including the fibre. Using all the fruit means we don’t need artificial flavours.
We only use real sugar. You won’t find artificial sweeteners in any of our drinks, ever. Indeed, you won’t find any ‘nasties’ in our drinks, just fruit, sugar, water and bucket loads of taste. We only produce great-tasting, honest drinks that burst with energy and natural fruit flavour.
